The Death Of The Long Sales Letter???
Michel Fortin came out with a report “The Death Of The Long Sales Letter”.
I certainly can not agree more that video and infomercial is the way to go, but I doubt Long Sales Letter will die, it has its value and effect.
Long Sales Letter does work for the following reasons:
- Long copy works because with certain types of offers, people want as much information as they can get before committing to the purchase, and
- Copy is the basis of audio and video as well as textual information.
- There are still alot of countries do not have broadband internet connection, if the sales copy consists only video and audio without much marketing text, before the audio and video clips are fully loaded, the reader has flown to another website.
Side note: I am sick of all these “The Death of ABCXYZ….”, things don’t die over night, it just becomes less effective over time and a new approach will emerge.
